I think one of the most well known natural disasters of 2010 was the earthquake in Haiti.  The damage it caused for the people living there and within the cities throughout the country makes it seem so difficult for the Haiti to actually “get back on its feet”.  It’s interesting because after the event occurred last January, there was so much money donated and volunteers who went to help rebuild what has been lost.  Yet today, a year later, Haiti still seems to be in the beginning stages of recovering and rebuilding what was destroyed.  I read in an article from Yahoo News that, “A year after the quake, workers are still finding bodies in the rubble.  About a million people remain homeless.  Neighborhood-sized camps look like permanent shantytowns on fields and plazas of the capital… Less than 5% of the debris has been cleared.”
