The morning of November 5, 2010 hit Haiti right where it hurt. After the earthquake that left Haiti in painful shambles it seems like a double whammy for floods to come cause more devastation when healing has just begun. The fifteen inches of rainfall within that twenty four hour time span left seven dead and more than ten thousand homeless. The government and CARE helped out greatly to provide places to stay for those displaced and safe places for those fleeing the flash floods. Luckily for Haiti though, what had been labeled a category 2 storm weakened just before hitting the shores, which did a great deal in lessening the losses. It seems outrageous for the poor country of Haiti to keep getting hit and hit with devastation, but the world has reached out in many ways to help, which is inspiring.
